Growing up in a close-knit family, I learnt what it is like to grow up with the constant love and guidance of grandparents and the role that they play in a child’s life. But with more and more families going nuclear, kids now don’t get to spend as much time with their elders. So, I want to help carry on this tradition by bringing together kids who do not have the care of elders in their lives with seniors who do not have the joy of children in their lives.
When we meet someone who cannot see, or cannot speak or are differently abled, we are immediately filled with a sense of empathy. But this is not necessarily the case when they see an elderly person. The truth is that there are millions of neglected senior citizens in our country who live lonely lives. People with a lot to offer but no one to share their knowledge with. So, I aspire to bring about a change by getting people to spend more time with such senior citizens and be more empathetic towards their cause.
